Or would the global economy be rescued by the unleashing of China’s domestic demand, with the Chinese spending potential largely intact thanks to huge financial reserves and the budgetary surplus? And would China act to end the global credit crunch by contributing some of its financial holdings and providing much-needed capital for international public lending?
